Julia Quintanilla

Instructor and Collaborator

Born in Spain, Julia Quintanilla is a professional dancer specialized in ballet and contemporary.


She studied a Degree in Dance and Visual Arts in the Alicia Alonso Higher Institute of Dance, doing her last year in Sacred Heart University of Puerto Rico and a Master Degree in Management and Leadership of Cultural Projects.


In the workshops she had being training stand out CAD (Seville), 180 Grados (Madrid), Korsia Company Workshop, Wayne McGregor Company Workshop, Madrid Dance Center, Alvin Ailey (New York), Deltebre Dansa (Barcelona), SOZO Visions in Motion (Germany), Sharon Fridman INA Workshop (Madrid).


In between the companies she had worked with, show up Ballet de Cámara de Madrid, CoDa21(Puerto Rico), Mauro Ballet (Puerto Rico), Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, Madrid Dance Company and Candlelights Concerts Company.


She also has been teaching both styles with more than 7 years of experience offering different types of workshops. Since her experience in Puerto Rico (2017-2019) she has worked in research about contribution in dance and development from indeginous dances until ballet nowadays.


Now her focus is in making a support platform for womxn dancers to work to aim for equal opportunities and inclusivity in the dance world. This new project it's called WODANCO.
